Groundwork Ohio hosted a webinar focused on the importance communication and language for infants and toddlers. A. Sophie Rogers’ team lead teacher Amber Fridley spoke as a panelist for the event. Amber is a specialist in infants and toddlers and spoke to the importance of language development in supporting a child’s social-emotional development, including the ability to communicate, express and understand emotions, begin to think critically, and build relationships. She shared the importance of talking with babies, even before they are able to talk back, as foundational to their language development. Amber also created a one-page handout for attendees with key information and ideas for supporting early language skill development.
