A. Sophie Rogers School principal Anneliese Johnson and vice principal Samantha Peterson will present at the upcoming International Association of Laboratory Schools conference in Toronto where they will highlight the educational benefits of the school’s mixed-income model. They will demonstrate how this model fosters a diverse community of learners and families and give insights into ways to enhance classroom curriculum to represent this diversity. They will also discuss the crucial role of university partners in providing necessary supports to families and ways in which they braid funding streams to promote financial accessibility to early education for all families, regardless of income.
Additionally, the school was selected as one of the filming sites for the Ohio State Board of Education’s new early learning and development standards. The training materials feature infant/toddler teachers Virginia Nicoloulias and Dilshad Tolliver demonstrating best practices in engaging with young children.
