The leaders of the A. Sophie Rogers School for Early Learning recently shared how the school leveraged state grant resources to support whole child family supports, in a presentation before an audience of Ohio early childhood educators at a state conference.
School principal Anneliese Johnson and assistant principal Samantha Peterson spoke in mid-June in Columbus at the 2024 ReadOhio Literacy Academy. The conference was sponsored by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
In their presentation, Johnson and Peterson discussed how the school boosted family engagement through surveys of family interests and needs, leading to robust and interactive programming. The grant resources also helped the school develop the role for the family engagement literacy specialist.
The presentation marked the second year in a row that the school was asked to participate in the ReadOhio Literacy Academy.
