Fall Assessments and Family Conferences
Be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teachers about arranging a family conference in October to discuss your child’s education and daily experiences at school. Friday, October 11 has been set aside for family conferences. Reviewing these assessments and screenings are one part of conferences. Discussing your child’s school friendships and learning, and setting educational goals for your child together with your teachers, are other important parts of the discussion. We look forward to meeting with you!
Fall Resource Fair Recap
Thank you to everyone who made our Family Resource Fair a success on September 19!
In case you missed the event — or you attended but would like to have another copy of the handout — you can click here to download a PDF of the handout listing the organizations that attended our Family Resource Fair, along with local resource and information contacts that may be useful for families with young children.

Library Updates
The ASR Library Mural is officially underway! Our artist-in-residence Anthony Pomales has taken all the feedback ASR families have given via voting or by attending the Creative Conversation event on September 26, and he is hard at work developing the mural’s design. Additional feedback about the mural can be directed to Jean Pitman, Manager of Community Programs at the Wexner Center for the Arts via email at jpitman@wexarts.org or by phone call/text at 614-313-8051.
In October we will be hosting our first ever Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 24 from 4-5 p.m. Children in preschool classrooms are welcome to bring their costume to school that day to change into after snack. Please no scary costumes or weapons. If you choose to send a costume, make sure that your preschooler can get in and out of their costume with minimal assistance, or just send them with part of their costume. We will have fun accessories on hand for children to wear as well. Children will participate in a costume parade from 4-4:15 p.m. and then families are welcome to do fall-themed crafts.
If you are interested in being a parent volunteer for our Fall Festival celebration, please contact Sarah at Simpson.962@osu.edu or stop by the library. Volunteers will help with crafts.
Each year ASR students receive three Book Bundles. The first one will be distributed in the fall. Please fill out the Book Bundle survey for your child if you have not already done so.
