The 2023 summertime reading list.
“Natural” Curiosity
FEATURED PROJECT: Teachers took the opportunity to build upon the children’s natural curiosity around plants. They creatively created a full curriculum to enhance the children’s learning and development.
2020-2021 End of Year Celebration
We ended an unusual school year with a combination of in-person, virtual, and take home celebrations! Congratulations to all our children for a wonderful year and especially to our kindergarten-bound students!
Extra appreciation for our early childhood educators
Each year, the first full week of May is dedicated as national Teacher Appreciation Week and gives us a chance to publicly thank early childhood educators. This year, we are especially thankful.
“I would like to send this to my friend!”: A year-long letter writing exploration
FEATURED PROJECT: Read how children at the A. Sophie Rogers School for Early Learning used letter writing to communicate their thoughts, ideas and feelings to friends (both peers and canine!). Read how they are meeting Ohio’s Early Learning Development Standards through these fun activities.
Get the Most from Your Story Times with Your Young Child
The Get the Most from Your Story Times with Your Young Child webinar was tailored to help A. Sophie Rogers’ families use reading at home as one of the best ways to continue enriched learning at home while building early literacy skills.
“Frame” Work for Social and Emotional Growth
FEATURED PROJECT: To help children prepare for their transition to kindergarten, our teacher organized a group project that allowed the children to practice social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, and persistence. This project also covered a range of early learning standard domains.
